About Us
Nuvo comprises Amy Purvis from Darlington on lead vocals, and myself, Pete Robson from Sunderland on guitar and backing vocals. Nuvo cover the best of great songs from across the decades, including swing, big band, R&B, soul, light disco and also funky modern pop grooves. We have a large and growing repertoire, and with Amy's talents, we can keep adding to the list.
Amy Purvis is Darlington based, and despite her mid-20s age, has excellent experience abroad in Portugal and in UK-based function bands. She also has extensive cruise ship performance experience. Undoubtedly she has great style and presence with an impressively powerful vocal talent. I am proud to work with Amy, and anticipate an exciting future ahead.
I have been a composer and played professional guitar most of my life, in all formats, covering most styles of popular song. I have worked with many professional musicians, including Dave Stewart from the Eurythmics, and Keith Wilkinson from Squeeze. I have also been a session guitarist for the PWL label, appearing on several albums, and have written music for many outlets. I am proud to play a special Carvin electric guitar from the USA, with a Fender Strat Special as back-up, and use Boss and Line6 effects. I also use LAG and Cort guitars.
Nuvo can offer any performance style stage or background presentation to suit your needs, and can cover wedding receptions, corporate functions, restaurant and hotel residency, private parties. Our fees are exceptionally reasonable and we can travel free to any acceptable distance, or can quote you an excellent price for more distant locations.
